Tracy and Fred Collin
Tracy and Fred Collin joined the board of Feathered Friends Rescue in 2010. Parrot owners of ten years, Tracy and Fred were faced with the difficult decision to re-home their loved parrot after the birth of their son. They care deeply for the well being of their parrot and found the Feathered Friend Rescue as a means to ensure the type of care they would provide themselves. After seeing the neglect, abuse, and lack of qualified sanctuaries; Fred and Tracy are very excited to help build Feathered Friends into an organization that can help many birds find permanent, happy homes.
Tracy has a Masters degree in aquatic ecology and is currently working on a monitoring project in Michigan’s Great Lakes coastal wetlands. Fred has a Bachelor’s degree in business and is CEO of Optiflow, Inc., a manufacturing company located in Ann Arbor.
Tracy and Fred were married in 2006 and their son, Owen, was born in 2009. In their spare time, Fred and Tracy both enjoy being outside as much as possible. Fred is an avid mountain biker and Tracy enjoys trail running and participating in local races.
